Mohammad’s maintenance of the clock started on 10th September, 2009. It is said that he and his son, Mohammad Shakeel, are the only people who know how to make the complex clock work.

The Sadar Market market that sprawls symmetrically around the clock tower is full of life with all sorts of things on display from fruit veggies to clothes and spices. It’s at night that the tower comes to life when it is all lit.
